Dean Reynolds, a CBS News reporter, complains that the Obama campaign isn’t attentive enough to his needs; and offers a veiled threat that “what goes around comes around.” Cry me a river.

This is proof of nothing in particular, just a fun little video of a few of the chowder heads supporting McCain. The videographer’s point being that these folks are idiots if they are against Obama because he is “unknown” and “mysterious” while they apparently have no problem with supporting Sarah Palin about whom less is [...]

There is a scene in Orson Scott Card’s Xenocide where an angry man stokes up the mob. At some point, the mob gets uglier than the man intended, and he unsuccessfully tries to calm it down. Then, the mob goes off and does something pretty awful, and the man feels bad. The lesson was that [...]

Colorado has a proposition up to amend its state constitution to state, “The term ‘Person’ or ‘Persons’ shall include any human from the time of fertilization.” Why not? If “person” includes non-human corporations, why not blastocysts as well. Next up: defining “human.”

Josh Marshall deconstructs the biannual ACORN freak out:
ACORN registers lots of lower income and/or minority voters. They operate all across the country and do a lot of things beside voter registration. What’s key to understand is their method. By and large they do not rely on volunteers to register voters. They hire people — often [...]

William F. Buckley’s son, Christopher, is endorsing Barack Obama (h/t Balloon Juice). And, somehow, I don’t think WFB is rolling over in his grave. He did not write the endorsement in the National Review because he wasn’t in the mood to repeat the experience of his colleague Kathleen Parker who pointed out that Sarah Palin [...]

Nice video of Obama calling the Republican game plan in July interspersed with examples of McCain/Palin executing that game plan.
The short version is that McCain’s campaign slogan might as well be: That One is different. EEK!

Seemed mostly a draw to me which is a net loss for McCain since he needs to catch up. The snap polls show folks regarding Obama as the winner by a fair margin. Technology like the snap polls and the viewer-meters seem to short-circuit the ability of the spin machines to gear up a narrative [...]

I’m a geek. Here is a spreadsheet I am working on with some information about the Indiana House races. What I have done so far is to list each district, the Republican and Democrats in each district for 2008, the Republican and Democratic candidates in 2006, the vote totals in 2006, the margin of victory [...]

So, if the fact that Obama sat on board funded by conservatives with a college professor who used to be a radical makes him too “risky” to be President; I suppose the fact that I got drunk on a number of occasions 15 years ago with the guy (white shirt and long hair) in this [...]

Since the markets have been tanking and the taxpayers have been bailing, the Captains of Industry have begun developing a public relations problem. It keeps getting out that executives from failed companies aren’t destitute. It doesn’t matter that the money being discussed is a “drop in the bucket” or if the stories are somehow out [...]
