I've been annoyed by the constant media drumbeat about Obama being "presumptuous" and "arrogant," since I've seen no evidence of either trait and wondered where the meme came from.
Someone just suggested an answer I should have thought of myself: "presumptuous" and "arrogant" are socially-acceptable ways of saying "uppity."
NOW it all makes sense.....
