Politico reports that--within the past year--Governor Palin's office requested $2 million in federal monies to study crab mating habits; $494,900 for the recreational halibut harvest and $3.2 million for seal genetics research.

What was that John McCain was saying about Palin being "anti-earmark" and fiscally conservative??

In today’s NYTimes, there’s an editorial about the press and Sarah Palin. Apparently, the McCain campaign has said that the press won’t have full access to her until it is ready to show the “proper respect and deference.”

Deference? Are they kidding us? As someone in my office pointed out, “deference” is what you show a monarch, not a political candidate.

But I don’t know why I am surprised. This is the same kind of thinking from some of the same people who brought us George W. Bush, aka “The Man Who Would Be King.”

Ferguson (the only Fergie I can tolerate) is a newly-minted US citizen contemplating his first time at the presidential election booth. He rightly asks "Are we so lost we have to be sold our own democratic right!?" Watch and discuss. This is good.

Is Hillary Clinton a Good Choice for Secretary of State?
Yes. She is knowledgable and has already established good relations with foreign heads of state.

No. Nothing against Hillary, but Bill is a loose canon and would be a constant distraction and/or embarrassment.

Yes. We get two for one: a former President and a knowledgable Secretary of State.

No. Her judgment is flawed, as demonstrated by her vote for the Iraq War.
