Oh. My. God.

Sheila Suess Kennedy | 08/28/2008 - 17:16

John Goodman--NOT the actor--has been quoted in a number of blogs today. An advisor to John McCain's campaign, he has identified himself as one of the chief architects of McCain's health care "plan." I use the term "plan" advisedly, since (as a post at TNR puts it) Goodman's arguments about health care--specifically, that people have too much health care coverage--is a bedrock principle of the McCain health care plan, which offers all sorts of incentives for people to choose less generous health insurance. The money quote was that--in Goodman's view--there are NO uninsured Americans, because emergency rooms are legally obligated to treat people who require urgent care.

So we all have access to medical care, and--in the words of another McCain advisor, we need to stop whining...

Don't you feel better?

Is Hillary Clinton a Good Choice for Secretary of State?
Yes. She is knowledgable and has already established good relations with foreign heads of state.

No. Nothing against Hillary, but Bill is a loose canon and would be a constant distraction and/or embarrassment.

Yes. We get two for one: a former President and a knowledgable Secretary of State.
