Now, I Could Just Cry

We've seen commentary on the color and fit of her outfits, her skin's tone and elasticity, her laugh, her demeaner and now her feelings. Love her or hate her, Hillary Clinton's campaign is writing the book on how we as women are really seen in leadership. Women should be very frightened, but aren't, which baffles me. Many can't "see themselves" in Ms. Clinton, so they're tone deaf to her experience which, sadly mirrors that of many, many women in leadership. As a job applicant in the most tortured interview processes on planet earth, one would quiver if a woman applying to head say, Eli Lilly, was faced with the kinds of personal comments Hillary Clinton's faced--gender-specific comments that her male opponents have never had to face and let's be clear here, there are ugly men running for Prez--Huck looks like a Basset hound, but aside from saying that Edwards is "too pretty" there's little else said.

Truth be told, Hillary Clinton's running because she's ambitious--just like every other candidate. Sure, they want to make a diffference, but there's just something about knowing that they want to be Number One (and have coveted that top spot for years) that makes us want to squirm and them to dissemble.
