It's Not Your Father's Presidential Campaign

Ray Miller | 02/29/2008 - 15:49

There have been 20 debates between Democratic Presidential candidates. 20, Twenty, XX, 2 time 10. It seems so surreal. Can you imagine 20 debates 4 years ago?
Can you imagine W debating Obama? Obama would probably look bad because he would not be able to stop laughing hysterically at W's total lack of ability to string two words together.

Not only the insane number of debates but the reality that whether it is Obama or Clinton, the Democratic Party will be making history.

There is also he pundit frenzy analyzing to death the results of each of the 30 odd primaries to date. Jon Stewart mentioned something about the 3 nippled vote.........

Plus the chronology. Obama and Clinton have been campaigning already for over a year. John Edwards was campaiging in Iowa since Kerry lost in 2004. Will the 2012 election campaigns start with a campaign speech at the January inaugural?

Then on the Republican side there seems to be a total lack of enthusiasm. I have listened to fanatical evangelical conservatives talking about becoming "suicide voters" and voting for Hillary. That way, they think, the "Liberals" will prove their policies won't work and a "real conservative" can win the White House in 2012.

Did you notice the "suicide voter" reference? we have heard of Islamofacists, have the conservative right become Evangelicofacists? (Couldn't come up with one that rolled off the tongue any better, sorry).

Buckle up your seat belts everyone, it's going to be quite the roller coaster ride until November. And it isn't in your Father's Oldsmobile..........besides GM already killed Oldsmobile off............perhaps a sign?

Lalita Amos | 02/29/2008 - 22:13 |  This was the funniest post I've seen all week--anywhere!

Ray, love the way you tie "suicide voters" with "Evangelicofacists!" Remember people: You read it here, first!

Oh and no, I can't imagine Obama and Bush debating. My brain just doesn't work that way.

Poll
Will the Choice of Biden and not Bayh Make it Harder for Obama to Win Indiana?
Yes. Evan Bayh would have energized Indiana Democrats and "tipped" the state.
0%
Maybe. But choosing Bayh would have made it much, much harder to win the election.
71%
No. Indiana voters know Bayh, and choosing him would have reflected poorly on Obama's judgment.
29%
Hard to say.
