American Values Alliance | Practical voice for progressive valuesThe Volokh Conspiracy, a legal blog, recently had a lengthy series of posts about a Michigan custody case, where the court favored one parent over the other based upon that parents' greater religiosity--despite the fact that both parents had agreed when they married to raise their children as agnostics. The court evidently agreed with what seems to be a majority of Americans, that religious people are more likely to be "moral." I personally find that to be a highly dubious proposition, since I know a number of extremely upstanding atheists and agnostics, and an even greater number of truly slimy albeit ostentatiously pious "Christians"..I'd be interested in readers' comments.
