American Values Alliance | Practical voice for progressive valuesThe media was all over the "Farrakhan endorses Obama" meme, when Farrakhan made a speech in which he spoke approvingly of Obama. Tim Russert demanded that Obama reject/denounce and otherwise separate himself from Farrakhan's hatefulness, even though it was clear that Obama had not asked for the endorsement. Fair enough.
So we just know that the media will demand the same sort of accountability from John McCain. After all, McCain actually appeared at a rally with right-wing nutcase John Hagee, whose endorsement he had solicited. (Hagee has called the Catholic church the "great whore," and his homophobia and anti-semitism are well-known.) So we can expect demands that McCain distance himself from this guy, right? Um, Not so much.

with a Rush Limbaugh endorsement?
If we demanded that every endorsment by any anti-Jewish, anti-gay, anti-Black, anti-woman religious organization or religious leader be publicly decried, well, that would take care of just about all of them.

Well, Sheila - You've hit another nail on the head. I suspect that the news media and pundits (what does pundit mean anyway?) have grown tired of the democratic love fest and are just spoiling for the fall campaign where 'publicans and 'demos will offer some 'gloves off' fights worthy of selling news papers or bumping ratings. I have noticed a sense of lull in the action even as the race for votes and delegates on this balloting day comes to a close. The number of fair and balanced news sources has dried up, like the waste lands of Death Valley. G. A. Borden, II
