Are We Ready to Start Talking about a Clinton/Obama "Dream Ticket?"

Lalita Amos | 03/05/2008 - 14:43

I'm just not sure about this, but after last night's wins, Clinton is now speaking somewhat favorably about a Clinton/Obama run--with her on top. One writer not too long ago said: My heart wants Barack but my head wants Hillary. That's pretty much where I am on this thing, too.

Are we ready to start talking about a joint ticket? If so, do both of these names need to be on it?

Here's what Senator Clinton said this morning on the Early Show:

Sheila Suess Kennedy | 03/05/2008 - 14:56 |  Not where I am

My head says Hillary is a walking disaster--for the ticket, and for the country. She's smart, she's a policy wonk, but she is controlling, divisive, and bogged down with baggage. And "experience"? Give me a break--I've been married to an architect for nearly 30 years, but that doesn't mean I can design a building. When you look at actual electoral experience, she and Obama have about the same amount. When you look at JUDGMENT, as he points out, he wins in a walk.

Bottom line: if she heads the ticket, McCain wins.

Is Hillary Clinton a Good Choice for Secretary of State?
Yes. She is knowledgable and has already established good relations with foreign heads of state.

No. Nothing against Hillary, but Bill is a loose canon and would be a constant distraction and/or embarrassment.

Yes. We get two for one: a former President and a knowledgable Secretary of State.

No. Her judgment is flawed, as demonstrated by her vote for the Iraq War.
