The "Rule of Law" thing......

Sheila Suess Kennedy | 03/05/2008 - 15:03

As you've probably heard, the Attorney General has refused to bring contempt charges against Bush Administration officials who are refusing to honor Congressional subpoenas. His rationale for simply ignoring his clear responsibility under the law is, to put it mildly, circular.

As Kevin Drum reports over at Washington Monthly, Jonathan Turley has nicely summed up Attorney General Michael Mukasey's position: "In his twisting of legal principles, the Attorney General has succeeded in creating a perfect paradox. Under Mukasey's Paradox, lawyers cannot commit crimes when they act under the orders of a president--and a president cannot commit a crime when he acts on the advice of lawyers."

No. Nothing against Hillary, but Bill is a loose canon and would be a constant distraction and/or embarrassment.
