California Justices Set to Weigh Gay Marriage

This in from NPR:

California Justices Set to Weigh Gay Marriage - After hearing hours of arguments, California's Supreme Court are due to rule within 90 days on whether a law against same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. Opponents of the ban say the state constitution leaves no room for denying such unions.

Listening to the floor arguments against same-sex marriage, I was surprised to hear California barristers suggest that same-sex marriages are detrimental to hetreosexual unions...in a state that doesn't even collect data on its divorce rate and has little restriction against frivilous marriage and even more frivilous divorce. Remember how Tom Cruise surprised Nicole with a divorce before their 10 year anniversary...before the law required more equitable dissolution of property?

One would think that those in Cali would be much more concerned with protecting marriage...from us good straight people. Only then could I even begin to take their arguments serious.
