American Values Alliance | Practical voice for progressive valuesLarry David has a typically funny post over at the Huffington Report. Musing over Hillary Clinton's "It's three a.m. in the White House" ad, he begins by saying
"Here's an idea for an Obama ad: a montage of Clinton's Sybillish personalities that have surfaced during the campaign with a solemn voiceover at the end saying, "Does anyone want this nut answering the phone?"
And his conclusion:
"I watched, transfixed, as she took the 3 a.m. call...and I was afraid...very afraid. Suddenly, I realized the last thing this country needs is that woman anywhere near a phone. I don't care if it's 3 a.m. or 10 p.m. or any other time. I don't want her talking to Putin, I don't want her talking to Kim Jong Il, I don't want her talking to my nephew. She needs a long rest. She needs to put on a sarong and some sun block and get away from things for a while, a nice beach somewhere -- somewhere far away, where there are...no phones."
Read the whole thing. It's worth it.

Larry David's right. Hillary Clinton's not inspiring the kind of trust she once did and I wouldn't hand her my cellphone to chat up my stepson when he calls let alone let her chat up Medvedev as he takes office.
I have to admit: at the beginning of this interminably long campaign, I was all for Hillary Clinton. Hillary has the necessary experience with children's issues, women's issues and those of people of color (mostly Blacks and Hispanics), though she doesn't seem to be able to parse the co-varying effects of both race and gender. Barack is mute on the subject of women's rights as far as I can see. However, I can't yet get past how amateurish Hillary Clinton's campaign seems to me these days.
She sites being cheek by jowl with the Hubster in Chief while he was doing all those...presidential things--that the very nearness of him gave her valuable insights into how the office of the presidency works. Nice thought except for the fact that being close to President Bill during his two presidential campaigns and seeing what it took to win didn't seem to rub off on her. So, how can I be expected to believe that anything else did. He was smooth and she's well, not so much smooth as a jagged little pill.
