Quick Note from the BlogMistress

Lalita Amos | 03/26/2008 - 11:39

I wanted to point you to a couple of small changes in the AVA blog, both in the Categories section.

  • Changed is the "Civility & Etiquette" tag in favor of "Civility & Fair Play," which I think is closer to the mark than the somewhat Emily-Postian spector the other tag seemed to evoke in some (um, like me). We can "keep it real" and press an issue without using unfounded hysterical speech to make that point. "Oh, yeah, but yo momma's a ho" doesn't work here....or anywhere.
  • Added is a tag for "Crime & Justice." This should bo without saying: making certain that our judicial system and our political system know that, while they're cousins, they've got to keep their hands out of each other's crayon boxes. Also, while reducing crime and increasing public safety serves the public good, we need to make certain that our system quickly prosecutes the guilty and just as quickly releases and restores the innocent.
  • Finally, since in this mirthless slog towards November, there seems to be so little of it, there's now a tag for "Humor & Snark," although I struggled with which should come first, settling for alpha order to ease my troubled mind.

If you have suggestions for ways to improve the site, make it more user-friendly, more interesting or worth reading, shoot me an email at: llamos@totaleamsolutions.com.

I'd love to hear from you. Really.
