Take That, John McCain!

Sheila Suess Kennedy | 05/17/2008 - 08:37

After George W. Bush and his clone John McCain doubled up on Barack Obama by calling his approach to foreign policy (basically: try talking BEFORE invading)"reckless," Obama wasted no time in firing back:

"What's reckless is continuing the Bush-McCain foreign policy that has cost us thousands of lives and a trillion dollars in Iraq, strengthened Iran, enabled Hamas to take Gaza, took our eye off al Qaeda, failed to capture Osama bin Laden, failed to finish the job in Afghanistan, and left us less safe and less respected in the world. No amount of utterly predictable fear-mongering and tough talk can change the fact that John McCain is running to continue the most disastrous foreign policy in recent American history," said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton.

Sarah Palin, Alaska’s Governor and GOP Vice Presidential candidate, has been the brunt of media criticism as of late, and it seems as though nothing good can be said of Palin. A prime example of this negative media is the reaction to her appearance on NBC’s long-running pop culture mainstay, Saturday Night Live. Instead of applauding Palin for being a good sport or recognizing that her appearance gave SNL its highest ratings in 14 years, the press criticized Palin on her performance. The media continues to question Palin’s success as Alaska’s Governor, the pregnancy of her seventeen-year old daughter, and even her character. A big portion of the liberal-minded media has suggested that our country would implode if Palin took over the presidency from John McCain. However, many of these attacks are far from the truth. Many people respect Sarah Palin for her unrelenting efforts to improve her home state of Alaska. Others admire her support of disabled individuals like those with special needs, autism, and Down syndrome. Even more people trust Sarah Palin because of her advocacy for personal responsibility and financial freedom. Part of this advocacy for financial freedom includes Palin’s opposition to the removal of the payday loan industry.

No. Nothing against Hillary, but Bill is a loose canon and would be a constant distraction and/or embarrassment.
