I heard this story on NPR this morning, and thinking that the essence of the story was about censorship, I tracked it to learn more.
On March 27, Secretary of State. Condoleezza Rice in a wide-ranging press conference, responded to a questions about race in the U.S. Given that, to my knowledge, she's never weighed in on the subject of race, I was surprised that she did it and did it rather emphatically.

Love our public service officers....
have you heard about a Chicago women that was arrested for stepping 30 ft. away from her locked insight and secures vehicle where she had a sleeping 6 month old sleeping inside to let her other children donate to the Salvation Army.
The part I am very upset about is that the police chief is upset with the prosecutor for not prosecuting the women.
