"Brothers and sisters, we must come together as Democrats" (to defeat McCain). "We are here tonight because the Democratic voters have made their choice, and so have I."

Here's what it looks like so far, based on exit polls....

Senator Clinton leads Senator Obama by a 2 to 1 margin.

More when there's more.

I was one of "those." You know: one of the Dems who believed that the ticket would be some blissful combo of Obama-Clinton-Edwards.

Clearly, I'm back on my meds.

The May 6 primary energized Indiana in ways no one had seen in years. The Democratic presidential contest was the number one topic of conversation among ordinary Hoosiers, young and old, black and white, rich, poor, and middle class. It filled pages of our local newspapers and hours of local talk radio and TV news airtime for weeks.

Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe (1749–1832), German poet and dramatist said: "That which matters most must never be at the mercy of that which matters least." Applied to this election and the Clinton Spin Machine which I think is stuck just before the rinse cycle (OK, so I'm writing this while my floor dries from being christened by my newly busted washer), I think Goethe wo

I listen to Morning Joe before starting my workday, but then, I watch O'Reilly and Glen Beck--when I can keep my ears from bleeding--and haven been known to visit hate group sites, just so's I know what they're up to, ya'll.

Via Jake Tapper:

Sen. Barack Obama moved into the lead today in the last category that Sen. Hillary Clinton had claimed to have an edge -- support among the Democratic Party's superdelegates.

The Illinois Democrat grabbed the superdelegate lead thanks to a switch by New Jersey Rep. Donald Payne and an endorsement from previously uncommitted Rep. Peter DeFazio of Oregon.

but that said, I find this bit of logic from Chris Bowers at Open Left pretty compelling.

As Bill Clinton was wont to proclaim during the 1992 run-up to president, "It's the economy, stupid." He was--and is--so right. So, I found this nugget from Senator McCain so compelling:

After watching the Democratic election results unto the wee hours of the morning, I thought it would be a good idea (after my second cuppa joe this morming) to check out the results from the GOP.

This primary is a knuckle biter with only 40,000 odd votes separating Obama from Clinton.

Given that Lake County will be the last Indiana county reporting in (operating on CP time, no doubt), here's my tribute to Gary.

I've been looking for a good election ticker to put on the site. Though I can't yet find a perfect one, here's one I like: http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/state/#val=IN

I'm getting ready to head out the door to Sheila's. We're going to watch the election results come in. I, the wine spritzer drinker, am going to be drinking gin...from my niece's silly straw.
