I was one of "those." You know: one of the Dems who believed that the ticket would be some blissful combo of Obama-Clinton-Edwards.
Clearly, I'm back on my meds.
The May 6 primary energized Indiana in ways no one had seen in years. The Democratic presidential contest was the number one topic of conversation among ordinary Hoosiers, young and old, black and white, rich, poor, and middle class. It filled pages of our local newspapers and hours of local talk radio and TV news airtime for weeks.

Sen. Barack Obama moved into the lead today in the last category that Sen. Hillary Clinton had claimed to have an edge -- support among the Democratic Party's superdelegates.
The Illinois Democrat grabbed the superdelegate lead thanks to a switch by New Jersey Rep. Donald Payne and an endorsement from previously uncommitted Rep. Peter DeFazio of Oregon.

This primary is a knuckle biter with only 40,000 odd votes separating Obama from Clinton.
Given that Lake County will be the last Indiana county reporting in (operating on CP time, no doubt), here's my tribute to Gary.
